How to Install SideStore

Requirements:

  • iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or later

  • macOS (10.15+) or Windows 10+ computer for initial setup

  • iTunes and iCloud (non-Microsoft Store version if on Windows)

Step 1: Initial Setup on Computer

  1. Download the following from the official SideStore website:

    • AltServer

    • SideStore IPA

    • JitterbugPair tool

  2. Install and open AltServer.

  3. Connect your iOS device via USB and trust the computer.

  4. Use AltServer to sideload the SideStore IPA (requires Apple ID login).

Step 2: Trust and Enable Developer Mode

  1. On your iPhone, go to:
Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Trust certificate.

  2. On iOS 16+, enable Developer Mode:
    Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode → Enable → Restart.

Step 3: Device Pairing for JIT

  1. Run JitterbugPair on your computer with your iPhone connected.

  2. This generates a .mobiledevicepairing file.

  3. Transfer the file to your iPhone via iCloud Drive, email, or AirDrop.

  4. Open SideStore, allow notifications, and select the pairing file when prompted.

Step 4: VPN Setup

  1. Install StosVPN from the App Store (or use a WireGuard config).

  2. Connect to the VPN whenever using SideStore.

How to Sideload Apps

  1. Download a .ipa file to your iPhone.

  2. Open it in the Files app and share it to SideStore.

  3. SideStore signs and installs it directly—no computer required afterward.

Enabling JIT in SideStore

JIT (Just-In-Time compilation) is essential for apps like emulators, boosting performance dramatically. SideStore supports JIT in two ways:

Method 1: Built-in Minimuxer (Recommended, SideStore 0.6.2+)

  1. Connect via StosVPN.

  2. In SideStore, go to My Apps.

  3. Long-press the app → tap Enable JIT.

Method 2: StikDebug Method

  1. Download StikDebug from the App Store.

  2. Import your .mobiledevicepairing file.

  3. Launch StikDebug and select your app → Connect by App → JIT enabled.
